Dear friend,

* Visual Science
* Optics, Refraction, and Instruments
* Clinical Ophthalmology

This online exam is an excellent opportunity for you to further validate your expertise and stay updated with the latest advancements in our field. The exam is tailored to be accessible and affordable, with costs adjusted according to your country’s Gross National Income Per Capita (GNIPC).

Key Features of the Online Exam:

1. Comprehensive Coverage: The exam includes modules on Visual Science, Optics, Refraction, and Instruments, and Clinical Ophthalmology, ensuring a well-rounded assessment of your knowledge.
2. Affordable Pricing: We have structured the exam fees based on GNIPC, making it cost-effective and accessible for all.
3. Convenient Location: The exam can be from the comfort of the candidate’s own country, without the need to travel.
4. Professional Recognition: Upon successful completion of the exam, the candidate will be entitled to use the post-nominal letters FIOF (Fellow of the International Ophthalmology Foundation).
5. Exemptions Available: The Ophthalmology Foundation offers exemptions from the Visual Science and Optics modules for those who have taken equivalent exams deemed to be of the same standard by the OF board.
6. Fellowship Points: Passing these exams also awards points towards an fellowship application with the International Ophthalmological Fellowship Foundation and the Ophthalmology Foundation.

Successfully passing the Ophthalmology Foundation Examinations will earn the candidate valuable points towards your application for the IOFF-OF Fellowship program:

2 points for Visual Sciences
2 points for Optics, Refraction, and Instruments
2 points for Clinical Ophthalmology

Earn a total of 6 points for completing all exams, with an additional 2 points awarded for achieving a Merit or Distinction.

Even if you have already started an application file for the IOFF-OF-Subspecialty Fellowship Program, you may submit your OF Exams certificates. We will include them to your application file and will consider them in our assessment and funding decision.

Please share this information with your colleagues who may not have taken an OF fellowship, as this exam provides an excellent opportunity for professional development and recognition.

We believe this new initiative will be a valuable addition to the individual’s professional journey and contribute to continued growth and excellence in ophthalmology.
